and engages the imagination. Often this concept can overshadow the qualities that come first in traditional real estate, such as location, home

style, and even the existence of a home. For some aspiring islanders, these qualifications hardly matter.

Buying an island can be challenging, but of course that's part of the

adventure. When considering private islands abroad you need to

make sure you are dealing with trustworthy, experienced real

estate agents and lawyers who have your interests in mind.

Research is paramount - many people become overnight experts

on countries they may not previously have found on a map.

Finding your perfect island is a process that can take a lot of time

and can actually become an obsession.
