Some people with limited resources and income may also be able to get Extra Help to pay for the costs— monthly premiums, annual deductibles and prescription co-payments—related to a Medicare prescription drug plan. This program is income and asset based and a visit to a SRC Information and Assistance Resource Specialist can help determine if you are eligible.
Medicaid
Medicaid is a joint federal and state program that helps with medical costs for some people with limited income and resources. Medicaid also offers benefits not normally covered by Medicare, like nursing home care and person- al care services.
Property Tax Assessments
SRC Resource Specialists can assist in filling out the Limited "Senior Citizen" Homestead Exemption and the Senior Citizen Assessment Freeze Homestead Exemp-
tion. These exemptions can reduce the amount you pay on your property taxes.
