It was a balmy autumn day as I joined the crowds for over a hundred years old. Surrounded by these

appears through the eyes of 30 men and women born
before 1916.
Since it went on general release, Older than Ireland has
seen sell out shows all over Ireland with community
halls becoming cinemas and nursing homes and day
centers making a special effort to give everyone the
opportunity to see the film. And it does not disappoint.
                                                          	
In Older Than Ireland, we meet a cast of colourful
characters who share with us their loves and joys,
stories from their lives and a rare insight into the history
of 20th century Ireland. Among them are Bessie Nolan,
Drimnagh, 103; Jack Powell, 101, Nenagh;
Kathleen Brennan, 100, Longford. The oldest Irish
woman is New York based Kathleen Snavely who left
