Health and Wellbeing

More and more we realise that true health, in body, mind and
spirit is not only to be found in a pill.

We are subtle and complex beings with a wide range of needs, personal
stories and individual challenges. Health in it’s narrow definition as the
absence of illness sets a very low bar for what our true potential can be. At
any age, we can continue to learn change, grow and improve in many areas
of our lives. Boosting our immunity is about feeling good, inviting in more
love, joy, happiness and pleasure. Our five senses bring us into contact with
the world around us – aromatherapy can have an invigorating effect and
improve our mood, we can enjoy uplifting music, wholesome nourishing
food and be rejuvenated by our daily exercise routine. In this section we
explore some of the many rewarding routes to establishing true health and
enhancing our feelings of wellbeing day to day.

SING OUT
Opening our hearts to others and sharing our feelings simply talking with
friends has long been known to improve our feelings of wellbeing. Singing
in a group can also increase this feel good factor ten fold. There are many
choirs to get involved with all over the country or you might start one of
your own. www.corus.ie

ONLY IN DREAMS
Author, Dream Specialist and retired Police Officer, George Rhatigan has
been using his detective skills helping people to find the root of their prob-
lems for the past thirty years. Every night we dream and each dream offers
guidance as well as warnings about looming health issues. Today George
and his team wish to educate people to the potential that everybody has for
healing themselves with simple techniques and exercises. Healing can be
more effective as part of a group.

THE STORIES WE TELL OURSELVES
Whatever our beliefs, we can always be surprised by the serendipities of life
when we ask for what we need in prayer or silent contemplation. Stilling
our minds through mind body practices like Yoga or Meditation can enrich
our spiritual lives too and bring relief from habits of anxiety, stress and
worry. When we take the time to look at the stories we tell ourselves this
can be a first step towards making positive changes. Instead of putting
ourselves down we might start giving ourselves a pat on the back and build
our sense of self esteem. How about:

“I am worthy of love, good health, joy and happiness day by day.”
or

“I look to the future with love, joy, confidence and courage”

I hope that you will enjoy exploring the many dimensions of health and
healing for yourself in 2016. What better investment for immunity health
and wellbeing than looking after ourselves, and making an effort to keep
active, nourishing mind, body and soul!
