It is never to late to look good
Why? Because you’re more confident
and then you feel good
It can become difficult to know what to wear as our body shape matures and fashions change. What used
to look good on us doesn’t any more or it it hopelessly out of fashion. The old adage is worth keeping in
mind: if you have worn a particular fashion before, do not repeat it: it never quite works the second time
around.
Probably the best advice I can give is to follow trends not fashions. As we are all aware, what works on
a 20 year old does not work on the over 50s. No matter how young we may feel in our heads, we have to
remember the bingo wings or the disappearing waist.
Sixty is the new Forty! But now that you are over 50 that is not a reason too dress “old”. The main thing is
to focus your shopping on what your shape is now. Be realistic and feature your assets. It is worth bearing
in mind that carefully choosing your key items can make the world of difference.
Where to focus your look?
It is important to take into account the length of your
tops and jackets, the length of your skirts, the fit of
your trousers, the most suitable neckline, jacket with
lapel or without. But most of all it is vital to wear
colours which flatter, especially near your face. Face
it - your skin is not the same tone as it was on the
younger you. Get
professional advice. The cost of Colour & Style ad-
vice will be saved quickly when you buy the correct
colours and styles and love your new look. Do this for
yourself!
Did you know that when you are wearing the right
colours for you, your eyes are brighter, your skin looks
smoother and you look much younger.
Some schools of thought hold that you should wear
lighter colours when your hair goes grey or white.
However in over 20 years of doing colour analysis, I
find that that is not always true.
