TIME OFF Quick Contact Details:
Gray’s Benefits team in the
Human Resources department
Bereavement Pay
Team members may be absent up to three full regularly scheduled workdays (up to 24 hours) with pay in case of
death in your immediate family. For purposes of Gray, this means your parents, spouse, children, sisters, brothers,
father-in-law or mother-in-law. For grandparents, team members may be absent up to two full regularly scheduled
workdays with pay.
The leave must be taken during the period between the date of death and the day following burial. Please notify the
Human Resources department if you are made aware of a death in a fellow team member’s family.
Jury Duty
Gray will pay a team member’s regular salary for the length of time that he or she is required to report for jury duty. A
copy of the notice to appear for jury duty must be provided to the Human Resources department.
Caregiver Leave
Gray provides two weeks of paid leave time for team members who may need extended paid leave time beyond
Gray’s current leave plans for the birth or adoption of a child (maternity & paternity leave); care for aging parents
(including in-laws); care for a seriously ill spouse or child or other immediate family member. The Caregiver Policy
offers a stair-stepped approach with flexibility that will allow team members to layer additional coverages currently
offered by Gray to fulfill personal responsibilities. Caregiver leave runs concurrently with Family Medical Leave. All
full time and part-time team members who are eligible for benefits may apply. Eligibility begins the first of the month
following the new team member start date.
