TIME OFF Quick Contact Details:
Gray’s Benefits team in the
Human Resources department
Time Off
Gray provides vacation time for full and part-time team members. Vacation time is granted at the beginning of each
calendar year, based on consecutive years of service and full or part-time status.
If there is a break in service with subsequent re-employment by Gray at a later date, the hours will be assigned on a
“new hire” basis.
Vacation hours are effective January 1st of each year. For example: “5th” year means January of the year in which your
5th anniversary occurs, regardless of your anniversary date.
You are encouraged to use all vacation hours assigned to you during the year of assignment. However, in situations
of extenuating job-related circumstances that have prevented you from using all of your vacation hours, a maximum
of 40 hours may be “carried over” to the following calendar year. Carry-over hours must be used by March 31st of the
following year or they will be forfeited. The Department Manager must approve and notify Human Resources in writing
of any approved carry-over time prior to December 31st of each year.
Team members have access to their vacation hours at the beginning of each calendar year; however, it is not
permissible to take an advance on vacation time. If your status changes from full to part-time at any point during a
calendar year, the vacation hours will be prorated accordingly.
