Professional Development/Certification Reimbursement
We firmly believe in investing in the professional development of our team members and provide
education through training programs, certifications and courses. Under this program, Gray will
pay your regularly scheduled compensation for exams that fall during normal business hours.
Please work directly with your manager to coordinate being out of the office. Any time spent
studying for exams should be done on your personal time; however, it is permissible to utilize
downtime in the office to study.
This program does not apply to university or college courses covered under the company’s Tuition
Reimbursement Program nor does it create a contract of employment. To request approval for
reimbursement/payment under this policy, you can obtain the form from Human Resources.
Tuition Reimbursement
We know the skills and knowledge of our team members are critical to the success of the
organization. To encourage professional development and provide assistance to those interested
in furthering their education, we’re pleased to offer the Tuition Reimbursement Program.
After completion of a team member’s six-month orientation period, full and part-time team
members who are eligible for benefits may apply for tuition reimbursement. In order to qualify for
tuition reimbursement the following criteria must be met:
1. The school must be an accredited college, university, vocational/technical school, or G.E.D.
training. Since there are many different types of accreditation, Human Resources must
approve these criteria in advance.
2. The courses taken must be applicable to the team member’s assigned job, or required for the
degree being pursued.
3. At least 30 days prior to enrollment, the team member must submit a formal request for
reimbursement, which can be obtained in the Human Resources department.
Once the approval is received, the team member must:
1. Register for class and pay tuition, laboratory and book costs.
2. Forward a copy of final grade and all receipts, canceled checks, etc., to the Human Resources
department.
For more information on grading criteria and policies relating to this program, please contact
Gray’s Benefits team.
