the time we could stay in the hot zone. These schedules had
to be validated by the nuclear control department. For
certain interventions, if the time provided was too long for a
single person, we organized teamwork: at the end of the
maximum authorized time, another person took over.
We had two medical checkups a year. I never felt like I
was in danger or at any risk. On the contrary, the two annual
medical visits reassured me. Everything was under control.
