Patton Boyle, in his book Screaming Hawk, says “The truth comes in the
silence between the words. It is grasped and experienced with the heart.”
As you are reading this book, I hope that you will attempt to do just
that – listen with your heart to the silence between the words and observe
the echoes the words evoke in you.

The academic aspects of this book would appeal to scientific, left- brain

focused individuals. The practical, consulting aspects would appeal to
more pragmatic, action- oriented professionals. But, most of all, I hope

that the humanistic, compassion and purpose- driven perspective of this
book will create a powerful impact on the silence between the words that
any reader will experience.
A final note on the cover. The graphics represent growth, transformation
and success. The butterfly is the most well- known symbol of transfor-

mation and is also related to the notion of chaos and complexity theory,
where small changes in initial conditions can lead to significant outcomes,
both of which are foundations of my work presented in this book. The
origami theme shows a holistic blend of Eastern and Western philoso-
phies which are also incorporated in my work. Western cultures tend to
be more individually focused; Eastern cultures are focused more on the
whole system. Finally, the three white origami ribbons represent ascension
and growth, and, most importantly, they represent the wealth, health and
happiness that this book aims to bring its readers!
I also sincerely hope that reading this book will inspire you to take an
action that will set you and others around you on the path to embrace and
harness the power of people. A sincere desire to make a positive change
that comes from the heart has the power to transform, restore and elevate
individuals and organizations to the new level of thinking, acting and
achieving. If you are yearning to play a part in producing more purposeful,
fulfilling and happier workplaces, you will indeed make this world a better
place and leave an extraordinary legacy. The choice is yours!
