Lesson 3
Teacher Instructions
SEL Standard 1A.2b: Describe and demonstrate ways to express emotions in a socially
acceptable manner.
Teacher: Have students complete Lesson 3. Explain conflict resolution strategies and coping
strategies and how they help resolve conflicts.
Teacher: Choose several students to reenact their activating events, emotions, reactions,
and consequences.
Teacher: Discuss with the students how their appropriate reactions resulted in favorable

1. Conflict resolution strategies- things that you can do to solve disagreements.
2. Coping strategies- skills that we use to manage our emotions.
3. Conflict- to disagree strongly, or a fight.
