“Downtown Raleigh is the place to be. Innovative businesses, commercial
spaces and a variety of cultural experiences are choosing the heart of Downtown Raleigh as their home. The YMCA wants to be a part of this moment as well.”

A RENEWED COMMITMENT TO DOWNTOWN RALEIGH POYNER YMCA
In June 2018, community leaders, Downtown Raleigh Alliance members, volunteers and YMCA staff celebrated the Y’s return to downtown Raleigh after more than 50 years with a ribbon cutting for the Poyner YMCA. This unique wellness center is located at 227 Fayetteville Street and is named in honor of James M. Poyner’s service to the YMCA and commitment to the community.
The Poyner YMCA serves as our primary health and wellness hub where pilot programs will be developed and launched at other branches. Specialty training options are available including Hot Yoga, Barre and MX4.
A Place for Community
The Y also has a Community Room–dedicated space for other nonprofits and community organizations to gather and meet as these partners work to do good.
