YOUNG HEROES

I am Mohammed Mujtaba Latifee of class 8A, Jr. House Captain of Spring House. As a kid, I have
always loved and enjoyed participating in activities, competitions, and functions in and outside school.

Playing chess is one such sport that I have always loved the most. It has been always played in our family.
I learnt chess playing with my siblings and slowly this hobby turned into my skill. Chess is such a fasci-
nating game with endless possibilities. I love chess because it is a good exercise to my mind and teaches
strategy and patience.

I started competing in school competitions when I was in Grade 2. My first achievement in Chess was
RD
when I received 3 position in the Inter House Chess Competition in Mini’s category. Since then, I have
participated in all the Chess competitions in School level, UAE level, National Level, and International lev-
el. In 2015, I participated for the first time in CBSE UAE Chess Clusters. I took part in the CBSE UAE
Chess clusters from 2015- till date and received several certificates and medals every year for the same.

In 2016, my team and I won 2 place and qualified to represent ADIS at the National level in Varanasi,

India. In 2017 again, we received 2 place and qualified to go to Ranchi, India for National Chess Compe-
tition. In 2019, we won 1 place in UAE Chess Clusters and once again got the opportunity to represent

our school at National Level in Delhi, India.

I have also actively taken part in competitions held at Abu Dhabi Chess Club from the year 2015 till date.

In 2019, I was awarded First Place certificate, medal and cash prize in the 7 Abu Dhabi Classic Chess
Tournament held at Abu Dhabi Chess Club. I have also had the honor of playing chess with famous Chess
Grand Master Wang Hao at Dusit Thani, where I also took part at the International Chess Festival. I am
currently taking part in the World Chess EXPO 2020 where I am competing with International players.

One of my greatest achievements is receiving Certificate of Excellence for taking part in Hamdan Award.
It was an honor to be short listed for the prestigious Hamdan Award. I have also received Certificate of
Appreciation for Academic excellence from ADEC in the year 2014, 2015 and 2016.

In 2015, I started a campaign against Food Wastage in the school and slowly started this awareness cam-
paign in malls, hotels and on social media. For this, I was also awarded AED 1000 and a certificate at the
Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival.

I also have keen interest in public speaking. I have given speeches at several functions and participated in
speech competitions and won several certificates.

Achievements and success are the part of one’s life. These are my achievements in my school as a stu-
dent. I am grateful to the Almighty for all His blessings. I am very thankful to my teachers and my par-
ents for their constant support and love. I am proud of being a part of ADIS.
