BACKGROUND

The use of mammalian cell culture has undergone a major expansion from being a purely
experimental procedure to become an accepted technological component of many aspects of
biological research. The culture of mammalian cell is now a widely used technique in many different
fields from the basic sciences of cell and molecular biology to the rapidly evolving in applied field of
biotechnology. Therefore, CMBL would like to make this development readily accessible to scientist
and technologist in the field by organising Basic Cell Culture Training.

               OBJECTIVES

After the session, participants are able to:

                    Adopt aseptic techniques
 Prepare cell culture media & reagents
                    Revive the cryopreserved cells
                    Maintain cell in culture
                    Passage cells
                    Cryopreserve cultured cells
