Hearts of Gold
CELEBRATING OUR HEARTS OF GOLD HEROES:
Joan & John Stephenson
For over 30 years, John and Joan Stephenson were devoted supporters of San Foundation. Their family fondly remembers them through the words of Winston Churchill: “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.”
John Stephenson known as “Jack”
to his children - was a self-made businessman with a heart of gold. An eternal optimist, he believed the glass was always half full. His integrity, generosity, and unwavering moral compass shaped both his personal and professional life.
Behind every step of that journey
was Joan - his steadfast partner and the heart of their home. Joan was the quiet strength who steered their family and supported their shared dreams. Together, they built a life grounded in love, purpose, and community.
The San has been a constant presence in the lives of the Stephenson family
– from the birth of their children to surgeries, ongoing care, and ultimately, the final chapter of both John and Joan’s lives. Their deep appreciation for compassionate, high-quality healthcare inspired them to leave a gift in their Will to San Foundation - a legacy of gratitude and hope.
Their bequest is a reflection of their values and a powerful act of generosity. It will help ensure that others continue to receive the same excellence in care that meant so much to them.
