Looking Ahead:
A Message from our CEO
As we look to the year ahead, our focus turns to one of the most pressing health challenges
facing our community - Cardiovascular disease. Still the leading cause of death for Australian men, heart disease accounts for more than 1,500 hospitalisations every single day across the country. It is a powerful reminder that in 1979 the San was the first private hospital in Australia to offer comprehensive a cardiac service and of the importance to continue to strengthen and enhance our Cardiac Care Services (San Heart).
We are entering into an exciting new chapter at the San, supporting our world- class surgical and medical teams with a new state- of-the-art Cardiothoracic Theatre and two Cardiac Cath Labs. At the San, we are committed to meeting this challenge head-on. With the generous support of San Foundation, we will begin the vital work of upgrading our technology and facilities for Cardiac services to meet future need.
In times of economic uncertainty, San Foundation plays a crucial role bridging the gap between what is needed and what can be funded through standard budgets. Their efforts are fuelled by the heartfelt gratitude of our patients and the generosity of people like you.
Over the coming months, our Foundation team will
be inviting many of you to join us in this next chapter of care. I know how deeply our community values the San’s Cardiac Services, and
