WOOD TECHNOLOGY
Meanwhile Year 9 Industrial Technology Timber students engaged in a wide variety of timber techniques and procedures to produce both a Shelf Clock and 600mm high Step Ladder. With the use of a Router and Biscuit Jointer, students were able to produce both Biscuit and Through Housed joints to construct their projects. Many also experienced different timber finishes including staining, lacquering and surface preparation to enhance the appearance of their projects. Although students needed some assistance during workshop practicals they have gained confidence and understanding in the safe operating procedures using a number of portable power tools and workshop machinery.
We are truly blessed to have such a workshop with quality equipment and students who have an enthusiastic approach towards their learning.
Year 9 projects
