WORK EXPERIENCE AND TAFE
2014 has been a busy year for Work Experience and TAFE and has brought Mrs Kelly Oastler us many successes. Year 12 students have been participating in a range of different work placements, including in shops, restaurants, day care centres and many more, in fact we’ve made a massive 44 placements throughout the year and have welcomed four new work hosts to the program (thank you Monica’s Doggie Rescue, Target Hornsby,
IGA Turramurra Eastern Road and Harris Farm St Ives).
As well as learning valuable work skills, the work experience program has also given many of our students the opportunity to practise independent travel to and from their placements.
A major success in TAFE this year was that ALL of our year 11 TVET TAFE students independently made their own way from Hornsby Campus back to school. Great work!
Well done to all the students for their hard work and efforts with the program this year and in learning important new and transferable skills. Congratulations also to our 2014 TAFE awarded Outstanding Student Award recipients, who will be announced on Presentation Day.
