SAN STEPPERS SHINE AT CITY2SURF 2024
A Journey of Heart and Determination
On Sunday, 13 August, 31 members of our San community laced up their running shoes and took to the streets for
this year’s City2Surf. It was an unforgettable day marked by determination, camaraderie, and a shared commitment to making a difference. The 14-kilometer challenge was more than just a race; it was a powerful display of unity, with our team rallying together to raise funds for the San’s heart services.
The atmosphere was electric as our participants, affectionately dubbed the “San Steppers,” navigated the course with energy and enthusiasm. The sun was shining, and the mood was vibrant, reflecting the positivity and drive that each participant brought to the event. With every step, they were not only pushing their physical limits but also making strides towards a greater cause.
We are thrilled to announce that through the collective efforts of our runners and the generous
support of our donors, we exceeded our fundraising goal, raising over $16,000. These funds will play a crucial role in enhancing our cardiac care services, ensuring that we can continue to provide top-notch care to our patients.
Dr. Sharp, one of our esteemed team members, expressed his pride in the team’s accomplishments, stating,
“The San Steppers exemplify
the spirit of our community - dedicated, compassionate, and united in purpose. The funds raised will go directly towards improving our heart services, making a tangible difference in the lives of our patients. I’m incredibly proud of everyone who participated and grateful for the overwhelming support we received.”
