UNDER 11 - TEAM REPORTS U11 Orange
What a truly amazing season by the under 11 orange team. The under 11 premiers!!!
The boys accomplished so much during the season including being minor premiers and only losing one game all season. It was really pleasing to see the boys work together and play as a team. Each of the boys made a number of significant contributions during
the season with the bat, ball or in the field. The boys
all showed improvement with their skills and should be really proud of their achievements. It was a team effort with an even contribution across the team.
The boys showed great poise and concentration under pressure in both the semi final and grand final when the game started to go against them.
Thanks to all the parents for their support. In particular, Tim with the scoring and Scott with umpiring and coaching when required.
Look forward to seeing all the boys return for next season.
Under 11 White
U11 premiers!
It was a close game but we won the trophy.
In their first year of competitive cricket, under 11 White had an amazing season. Many of our boys skipped under 10s, joining Under 11s straight from Under 9s so this season was their first experience with hard ball cricket. The team managed the transition with confidence, remaining undefeated until Round 9, when they fell just 20 runs short of the eventual winners of the competition.
Everyone contributed with both bat and ball throughout the season. Five of our batsman scored more than 100 runs for the season with Lucas M top scoring with 156 runs. Tom M was second in the run scoring on 139, Hugh L on 130, Yasith P on 112 and Aayush K on 103.
All players took at least a couple of wickets throughout the season with Akith E topping the wicket count with 11. Tom M was second on 8 and three players, Aayush K, Lucas A and Riley C all taking 7 throughout the season. Special mention to Thomas M whose bowling showed tremendous improvement and Armaan D who had a special knack of taking his wickets at crucial stages in the game.
It was very pleasing to see the improvement in fielding skills with all players contributing on the field including Isaak B and Zac M who could always be counted on to keep up the enthusiastic chat in the field and who also were valuable contributors with bat and ball.
Our team ended the season in second place having only the one loss recorded after 10 rounds. Unfortunately, the team lost their semi-final in controversial circumstances but took the loss well and with good grace, but determined to go one step further next year!
Lucas M took out the batting award, Akith E took out the bowling and team player was awarded to Aayush K. An honourable mention to our youngest player Tom M, who was second in both bowling and batting for the season.
Special thanks to coach Robbie and (unofficial) assistant coach Grant who helped out when Robbie was not available. Also thanks to Stephen who was an ever reliable scorer and to all the parents who helped out during the season.
