U11 Green
The U-11 Green Team played competitively and consistently till last rounds and finished eighth overall in the rankings.
Most of them have displayed their specialist talents.
Deep Rawat with his stylish elegant left hand batting topped the batting averages. Luke Clulow was remarkable with the ball, justifying his bowling award and Vishnu Raman won the team player award with his inspiring all round performance. Zac Clulow and Haseeb Rehman too displayed all round skills with bat and ball. Ajeet Kasi an inspiring all-rounder continued to be the big hitter. Manavender ‘Manny’ Singh and Laksh Kohli showed great development and contributed to the teams success. Arjonil Mukherjee and Hrithian Sriraghavan displayed their interest in keeping the wickets taking turns every match in addition
to their batting and bowling. Ansh Pratheesh continued to mesmerise batsmen with his slow left arm spin in addition to his batting and was involved in a record partnership for the 3rd wicket in a match they won convincingly. While Raiden Liwanag could not play towards the later half of the season due to his other commitments with school, he too contributed positively with some great bowling and good catches that won matches for the team.
Last but not the least, we would like to say a big Thank You to our coach, Indranil Mukherjee who kept juggling with his role in the senior’s team and never shirked from coaching the boys every week. We would also like to thank all parents involved with scoring, umpiring and ensuring the boys had a great Christmas get together party after a match.
Under 11 Blue
Under 11 Blue had a fun season following the club’s mantra of Participation Over Results. We changed the batting order each week and rotated the bowlers so everyone had a good turn. This developed all of the boy’s skills so that by the end of the season they had all improved. By building all of the boys’ skills it led to a terrific team effort in the game that concluded on February 24.
Many of the players contributed to an exciting win with 2 balls to spare in the fifty overs allocated. On the 1st Saturday of the game the boys only lost 2 wickets in 25 overs showing great defensive skills and concentration. Akash, Ben, Jacob and Harrison all had vital contributions against a strong bowling team. When they bowled a number of terrific catches were taken particularly by Alex with some tremendous bowling by Dylan and an important wicket by Rhys. At the end of the day the opposition were 5 wickets down after their 25 overs.
In the 2nd week of the game they bowled out the opposition with important wickets being taken by Ben, Sam B and the final wicket by Matthew. The chase was then on with about 75 runs needed from 25 overs. Reuben and Tom did a terrific job of concentrating and blunting the opposition’s good bowlers before Alex got the score moving after drinks. The last partnership between Archie and Dylan was a terrific display of hitting and aggressive running between the wickets to pass the opposition’s score in the last over. Many
of the team had stayed to watch the conclusion and support their teammates and were able to enjoy the moment as a team.
It was a great example of not being too down after losses during the season, but really enjoying the moment when they won. In my description of the match 12 boys are listed as having major contributions to the win. This is everyone who played in the game. This shows the benefit of all the boys having a turn and contributing to the team. The only player not mentioned was Sam R who didn’t play in that game but had other major contributions such as a score of over 20 at Edward Bennett early in the season.
