UNDER 12 - TEAM REPORTS
The 2017/2018 season was a significant one for U12s. For the first time in club history we had all WPH Grand Final including the two official umpires. Everybody involved should feel proud of themselves. It
is often said that success has many fathers/mothers and this proverb holds very true in this age group
each year. We had many parents/non-parents, players and siblings participating this year to create such a successful year. We had most boys returning from last year but we also welcomed a number of new players to the Club. In total 65 players were divided into 5 teams during the season
There were many positives to come out of the season. Out of 5 teams 2 teams made it to Grand Final. This is remarkable considering there were 18 teams in the competition. We also had Three players among top 10 run scores and Four players among top 10 Wicket takers in the competition. I would like to congratulate every player for their contributions during this season. You made a big difference to your team. Also would like to Congratulate Kai Carney (purple team) for becoming the highest wicket taker for any Age group during this season.
Congratulations to all our coaches and team managers for a great year. It often seems like a thankless job, so I would like to thank them for all the effort and dedication throughout the year. Thank you to all the parents for helping out on game day, at training and driving boys to cricket each week. Big Thank you to Prowse family (Blue Team) for all their contributions through last 3 years and good luck in your next club.
For all the players good luck with winter sports and we can’t wait to have you all back next year in U13s
Blue Team – Most Improved team again this year. Remarkably Blue Team finished the season 9th on the ladder and one stage they were in contention for semi-finals. This is an outstanding effort considering the way they started 2yrs ago. Well done to everyone involved.
Red Team – Most of the players were new to the club or new to cricket. But still manage to make the Grand Final. Well done specially being a new team. Every player and parent should be very proud of this success
Orange Team – Everyone had fun playing together again and you are definitely a team to watch next year, since I am sure the boys will all be motivated.
Green Team –There were new players in the team this year which made it little difficult to play as a team every time but this didn’t stop them from getting their first ever Outright Win this season. This team has lot of promise and potential to get better results next year and beyond.
Purple Team – PREMIERS 2017/2018. Most consistent team for a couple of years now and they deserve to be Premiers. Again another fantastic year.
