UNDER 13 - TEAM REPORTS
In under 13’s this year, we fielded 3 wonderful teams and although we had no teams in the finals we still had a wonderful season. I would like to thank all the coaches, managers, umpires and scorers for their selfless contributions to the development of cricket in our great club.
U13 White
We had a great season with lots of fun and a number of new players joined our team. We continued to build on our skills and we learnt a lot this season particularly about running between the wicket and the benefits of bowling at the stumps. We had a tough start to the year with several close losses and our batting cost us some games. Things improved in the second half of the season with some excellent bowling a batting resulting in some great wins.
There were some inspirational performances which included:
- Super 60 not outs from Jordan and Jack with the bat
- Great spin bowling from Lachlan E. and Tim
- Excellent pace bowling from Josh, Lachlan D, Ari, Mayank, Viahan and Jack - Wonderful improvements from our new players Tom, Cam and Harry
- Some amazing opening batting from Tim, Daniel and Lachlan E.
- and finally some big hitting from Ronan, Lachlan D. and Josh
Special thanks to Julie Morris, Warick Edwards and Andy Smyth for their awesome support throughout the season.
U13 Red
The under 13 Reds had a very successful year, winning 7 matches and if not for losing one game that the boys had in the bag, they would have played in the finals. This season we welcomed a few new players, Nathan and Pat Watkins as well as Tom Downing. All three were a great asset to the team, and had some terrific performances during the season. We are fortunate to have a great bunch of boys who not only are very good players, but also really enjoy each others company, so they have a lot of fun each Saturday.
The team continues to improve, and have no doubt will be a finals contender next year. The development in all areas of their game has ensured they are very competitive with the best sides in the comp, with bowling and fielding in particular setting up man of the boys wins. There were many outstanding individual performances in the team throughout the year, but congratulations to Oscar Irwin (bowling award), Ryan Richards (batting award) and Jack Marsden (Players player) for their achievements.
A big thanks to Melissa Adams for once again doing a great job managing the team, to Paran Moyes and Ron Marsden for their coaching assistance, and to our numerous scorers each Saturday.
