The most improved award for the season went to Hayden, who, despite having a difficult start to the season following an arm injury, whose perseverance produced some exceptional bowling and batting spells. The team’s most economical bowler was Rishi, who conceded under 3 runs an over, and, with one of the straightest bats in the team, recorded the fewest outs with just 5 dismissals over the season. Ethan continued to mature into a talented all-rounder, producing some outstanding batting when the team needed it most, and scoring a massive 207 runs along the way. The quick in the team and bowling award went to Kalpa, whose consistent pace produced some excellent spells with the ball, taking an impressive 17 wickets over the season. The batting award went to Aathavan who, as a talented all-rounder, also demonstrated outstanding leadership, character and team-spirit. He often carried the team to victory by smashing fours and sixes, scoring a massive 229 runs, and taking 31 wickets with the ball. Josh continued to improve in his bowling and batting, becoming a valuable team player: his consistent straight-arm bowling was rewarded with an impressive hat-trick. Liam was a determined and fierce competitor, giving his all on the pitch: he produced good economy with the ball and smashed some crucial runs with the bat. The teams Mr. Consistent was Lennox, who quietly worked his way to become a fast and economical bowler (just 2.6 runs per over) while also maintaining an excellent strike-rate with the bat. The most promising player was Rudrik, who, as a natural all-rounder, took the second-highest wicket haul (bruising a few opponents on the way!) and scored over 100 runs with the bat.
Special thanks go to the team manager Jacklyn, assistant coach Adeem, and Dibaloke for compiling the season’s statistics.
