Red
The U10 Red team was a brand-new team, with most of the boys playing a full game of cricket for the first time. From the start it was evident that this team had a lot of talent which they demonstrated throughout the season. One thing that stood out was their dedication and willingness to learn new skills. Each member of the team contributed something special, and they developed into a team with great spirit and a force to be reckoned with in the future.
Jake, also known as “Uncle Jake”, sustained a nasty injury in the beginning of the season but showed dedication and re-joined the team mid-way. He received the Bowler Award for demonstrating his commitment and consistency with great bowling during each match he played.
Benjamin showed great enthusiasm and developed his skills during the season. Not only did he show significant improvement with his bowling, but all other aspects of his game improved.
Johannes is a future player to keep an eye on, demonstrating great commitment to train and further develop his skills. It was however his improvement in his batting that was the most notable, showcasing great technique and power.
Krish was always keen to practise and did not miss one training session or match. Being the youngest player in the team did not prevent him to bowl formidable leg-spinners and exhibiting his great batting skills, which secured him the Batting Award.
Sasen was our most relaxed player with a great bowling technique. He would quiet the opposition through his unrushed demeanour, before unleashing some fiery balls.
Thys showed great energy in the field and contributed from a bowling and batting perspective, including quick running between the wickets. He received the Team Player Award for his all-rounder performance.
George was a valuable player who encouraged the team throughout the season, with a great bowling arm thrown in for good measure! He also scored great runs throughout the season.
Hunter developed into a consistent bowler and at the end of the season he was a trusted player behind the wickets. He hit some great balls and would have won the award for being first to ask the final score each week!
Reed displayed his bowling progress throughout the season, but it was his powerful batting that was the most noteworthy. He was able to hit some massive 6’s which raised eyebrows with the opposition team.
Thank you to Kinjar for helping the team at training and leading the boys on match day on several occasions. Also, to all our regular scorers and umpires that helped throughout the season, thank you! This was a real team effort. Lastly, but not least, thanks to Ilanda for managing the team and always keeping us informed of what is happening and ensuring game day runs smoothly. The U10 Red team may have been a new team but they will be back, bigger, stronger and ready for a great 24/25 season!
White
It was a tough start to the season for U10 White, with the team losing the first four matches on the trot, but the quality of the players soon started to shine through. After finding their feet, the team recorded only one additional loss for the rest of the season, winning 10 the remaining games. This is testament to the consistent effort and talent of the players, and the outstanding support from the parents and carers.
