Background
The Review Report considered the opportunities and challenges to extend CEnet services to areas outside of Catholic education in member dioceses.
This question was asked of those interviewed and there were two schools of thought. One group believes that CEnet should maintain its sole focus on education. The other school of thought is that CEnet could extend its activities to other Catholic bodies, especially diocesan offices and parishes.
Various considerations were raised by interviewees if an expansion of services was considered. One matter, though not raised by the respondents, would be to ensure that CEnet was not breaching the provisions of section 83C of the NSW Education Act. This would not be an insurmountable obstacle but would require careful management.
Key actions required
8.1 Develop recommendations around service offering.
8.2 Alignment of changes to service offering with strategy.
8.3 General meeting of members (constitutional changes).
8.4 Implementation of new service offering (if agreed).
