Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I want to give an enormous thank you to our previous Secretary, Jane Ottens. She was Secretary for over two years and is a legacy of the ANZCP. Thank you Jane for your support in transitioning me into this role. You have left very big shoes to fill.
For those who don't know me, I am Britney Westbrook. I graduated with my CCP in 2019 and have been an active member of the ANZCP Executive Committee since November 2019, my first role being Registrar. I believe in concreting our profession's future, and I hope to fulfil my purpose as Secretary as best I can. Having been a member of the scientific committees for both the 2021 and 2023 ANZCP ASM and 2022 3SCTS for the last three years, and instituting ANZCP's new leading education series, Perfusion into Practice (PIP), I have a firm grasp on the expectations of our members and what benefits our community want to receive. I plan to encompass the prominent topics our members continue to highlight. These
include a tertiary recognised CCP, reprioritising our financials, such as our JECT membership and building PIP into a solid educational foundation within ANZCP.
We have some fantastic ideas coming through our Executive Committee, with our new members Camilla Hand as Registrar and Rose Belbin as Ordinary Member. They both have grabbed their roles by the horns. Their visions for our College's future and what they can bring to the table are lovely and refreshing for the College and the Executive Committee.
We are excited to see what the rest of the year brings, and I look forward to seeing many of your faces at our upcoming ASM in Sydney in November.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to any of the Executive Members or our incredible Admin Administrator, Andrea Hunt, to express any concerns, queries or suggestions you have for ANZCP.

Dear colleagues, we’re almost halfway into 2023 and are now updating you all on the progress that the Board have made in the last 6 months. While continuing with our business-as-usual operations, covering many aspects of education and credentialing, we have also been working hard behind the scenes to progress perfusion education locally.
Firstly, we have recently welcomed three new graduates as CCPs, who have successfully completed their Board exams in February this year – Andrew Rowan (NSW), Alistair Sinden (NSW), and Aidan Singh Howard (SA) – Congratulations on finishing and all the best for an exciting career as a perfusionist!
The MUSC course is running very well and the current students have great feedback about the dynamic and interactive course. The first cohort of students are due to finish in July 2024, meaning that we will likely reschedule CCP exams to fall in August 2024. Alex
Peterson, has been a great liaison between our College and MUSC and has decided to step down from the Board, now that the ties have been established and students have commenced. We would like to thank Alex for all of his work, not only as the MUSC liaison, but as a fine Board member and his valuable contributions over the past two years.
Progress is continuing with Western Sydney University, with the view to stand up a local Masters course in perfusion. We had an in-person meeting with the Dean of Medicine, Deputy Dean and the postgraduate program advisor in February and are currently putting together a business case proposal to be submitted in July. We received a number of great applications from the EOI for a Course Development Team (CDT) that will work in collaboration with the university to ensure the coursework is of their standard. The university were very impressed with the calibre and experience of the
