Chairpersons & Presidents Report
When looking at the 2024/25 season, our 93rd, Season the achievements and highlights always comes back to our people – it is what makes our Club great. For this reason I would like to focus on two people – Barry McDonald & Arthur Souter - before commenting on the Season.
The legacy that both Barry and Arthur have left is immense. The best analogy is that those who remain are walking in the steps of giants.
Barry McDonald retires
At the AGM (Tuesday 25 June 2024), Barry McDonald retired as our distinguished Chair. Barry had been Chair for the last 10 years and was President for the preceding 29 years – a total of 39 years of outstanding leadership. While our Director Operations will provide a detailed overview of Barry’s contribution, his contribution as our Leader has left a profound positive legacy on every aspect of our Club.
Thanks for your amazing service Barry.

Vale Arthur Souter
It is with sadness that Arthur Souter, our 13th Life Member, passed away after a short illness on 24th June. Among his many achievements, he was the visionary who gave us Kanga Cricket (1992) and then Girls cricket (1995). We have now registered over 3,000 Blast (Kanga) and 1,200 Girls players since Arthur’s Vision became a reality.
Arthur has left us a legacy that is thriving that has introduced thousands of boys and girls to a lifetime love of cricket.
