U9
Blue
U9 Blue have had a great season in 2024_25. It was great to see the improvement and development in all our players games compared to the previous season. We end the season with some great memories; Raj who always puts in his best effort at training and on gameday has seen his game really improve in particular his batting skills. Henry brings the energy to the team; his smile is infectious, and he really gets the teams motivation going on game day. Who can forget the running between wickets display that Sid and James put on up at Galson where they gained about an extra 20 runs for the team to win the match! Or the batting masterclass the Leon put on at Beecroft where I heard the Beecroft coach say I had better get his autograph!
The improvement in Rithvik’s bowling over the season has been amazing, he has found his rhythm and is getting consistently good line and length, he will be a bowler to watch next season. Jake has really come along with his batting; he is a reliable performer for our team which saw him win the batting award on presentation day. Estelle has been bowling well this season, her medium-slow paced arm balls are very deceptive and make it very difficult for
batters to score. It’s been fun for parents and kids alike, thank you for all the parent support at Training and on match days. A huge thank you to our amazing manager Fiona who kept us organized and informed all the way through our season! Looking forward to an even better season in 2025/26.
U10
Green
The 2024-25 season was a character-building season for the U10 Green Team. We started out with a win, but we suffered a lot of losses throughout the rest of the season. The players started off the season as a group of individuals, thinking they could only influence how many wickets they took, or how many runs they could score (sometimes at the expense of their batting partner!)
But somewhere in the second half of the season, the message that coach, manager and parents had been trying to teach them, that they had to play as a team above all else, started to resonate and by the end of the season their support and encouragement of each other was their number one strength. Typically, they had to learn this from another team to truly understand the power of backing up your teammates, but they got there in the end.
This is our team of superstars and their official and unofficial awards. Vedesh - Commitment to Cricket
