This was Vedesh’s first season of cricket, and it was a steep learning curve. But he was persistent, consistent, and worked hard to learn what’s expected in each position on the pitch. Vedesh had massive growth in all areas from the start to the end of the season, we can’t wait to see him next season!
Aayan - Number 1 Fielder
Aayan is the best listeners on the team. He consistently listens to feedback and does his best to apply it. He was our most agile fielder by the end of the season, stopping and quickly getting the ball to the stumps. He always wears a smile and loves hanging out with his team mates. Next season there’s no doubt the run outs will come.
Aariv - the Dark Horse
Another player for whom this was their first season of cricket. Aariv’s dad was usually the umpire so he had no escape from feedback! He showed us some fantastic bowling, and great work with the bat. He’s always looking for how to make an impact, he’s lots of fun to have on the team, and we can’t wait to see what he does next season!
Luqman - Most Improved
Luqman showed us a huge improvement in bowling, especially in the final 3rd of the season. He even got a hattrick! Luqman has shown improved focus as a fielder and resilience as a wicket keeper. He takes feedback from coaches, parents and other players and applies it. Onwards and upwards for next season, Luqman!
Nouman - Most Reluctant Cricketer
I’ve spent most of this season convinced that Luqman would rather be anywhere else than on the cricket pitch! But something changed in the final 2 months of the season. His fielding instincts are kicking in, and his readiness and ability in running a cheeky single has really added to our run tally. Even his bowling has had a step change in the right direction. I think he might be starting to like this cricket game!
Reyaansh - the Spin King
Reyaansh has consistently shown a great understanding of the game, and shares feedback with his team mates in a respectful and encouraging manner. He brings his whole self to every training session and match, always wears a smile and knows that the way to win is as a team, not as a group of individuals. He works hard and has committed to the craft of the spin bowl.
Avaan - Batting Award
Avaan sets very high standards for himself. He gets so invested in the match he’s become the screamer of the team. When he is able to channel all that energy and enthusiasm into his game, he can get boundary after boundary and is the number one vocal supporter of the team. When he learns to stop watching the ball and to be kind to himself, he’ll be unstoppable.
Josh - Team Player / All Rounder
Josh’s read of the game is second to none, and his ability with the bat and the ball has brought us close to victory numerous times. From last season to this season, his pace on the ball has improved
