Morning Light operates the Award-Winning
Abbie Hunt Bryce Home. The Home received
the Serious Illness Management Innovation
Award from Boston University in 2018. The
Home has also received an Award for
Excellence from the Indiana Office of
Career and Technical Education under the
Governor’s Workforce Cabinet for its
Certified Nursing Assistant Training Center.
The organization has received a Healthcare
Hero award from the Indianapolis Business
Journal, a Michael Carroll Housing Award
from Prosperity Indiana, and a Storyteller of
The Year Award from OneCause software.
The Abbie Hunt Bryce Home opened in 2004 through the generous private contributions of
individuals, foundations, and corporations. Ongoing fundraising helps to underwrite all
operating expenses so residents stay for free. We have served close to 750 Hoosiers since
the Home opened in 2004!
The Home was created for our neighbors like Ken (top right)
and Denise (bottom right) to serve Central Indiana residents
who are terminally ill, in financial need, and in need of a free
place to live where they can conclude life’s journey. We are
a Medicaid Waiver Provider which creates more
opportunities to serve those in our community who may
otherwise be overlooked. We can also accommodate
medical or hospice respite on a case by case basis.
Capacity | The Home consists of three townhouse units with
a total of twelve bedrooms.
Staff | CNA staff or training caregivers on site 24/7.
Medical Support | Any licensed hospice in Central Indiana
may provide services to residents.
Referrals | The Home accepts referrals from: hospitals;
charitable organizations; physicians; hospice programs;
faith-based organizations; and self or family members.
Volunteers | Volunteers enhance the quality of life for our
residents providing cooking, cleaning and companionship.
