Faux Stained Glass –
Rare Earth Dream Catcher
Stained glass effects transform a card from pretty and colourful to something extra special. Vibrant colours and glossy accents create faux glass that shines and shimmers in the light and adds a folk-art appeal.
The example uses the Tattered Lace/Rare Earth Dreamcatcher collaboration die set. The outline die has been cut from white cardstock and the dreamcatcher pattern has been cut from black. After being stuck together and the segments having been coloured in, another black die cut has been layered on top to create a set of deeper ‘wells’ for the Glossy Accents.
Once each pocket has been filled and allowed to dry, the final mirrored die cut has been stuck on top to finish. Mirrored cardstock is ideal for faux stained glass as its reflective properties enhances the effect of the glass-like elements.
