SETTING
Setting is the time and place from which a story is told 
Setting is important because it helps establish the mood and tone of the story  A well-crafted setting gives readers a mental image of the place 
The great Southern writer, Eudora Welty said, “Every story would be another story, and unrecognizable if it took up its characters and plot and happened somewhere else... Fiction depends for its life on place. Place is the crossroads of circumstance, the proving ground of, What happened? Who’s here? Who’s coming?”
