ASHLAND | SATURDAY, AUGUST 25
he duo Gypsy Soul began in Scotland 20 years ago with Roman Morykit (UK) and Cilette
TSwann (Canada/USA). Their soulful blend of roots rock, blues and jazz helps inform their
sound and message, which is both universal and intimate, familiar yet otherworldly. Their music
blends Italian, Irish, South African and Ukrainian.
Over the past two decades, Gypsy Soul has had a Top 40 hit and won numerous international song-
writing awards. They’ve opened for known groups, and had their songs placed in hit TV shows and
motion pictures. With over 1,000 shows and half-a-million miles under their belts, they’ve earned
their bohemian road-warrior stripes. The blend of their unique upbringings and prodigious talent
creates their genre-defying sound, potent performances and memorable narratives.
