While all that may be an impressive feat in itself, one other fact
topped Reid’s list of the staff’s proudest accomplishments. “We did not
miss any weddings we had planned,” Reid says. “The flood happened
on a Sunday and we had a wedding the next Friday. We cleared up a
wedding site on the 18th fairway and stole all of the sod off the driving
range to make sure it was appealing.”
The resort did lose a massive number of rounds while the courses
were closed, including full-field events, but only temporarily. They had
to displace golfers who had been coming to play for 15 to 20 years, but
all of them have come back to tee it up again.
