while the pond area creates a relaxing park-
like experience. Even the bench seating is
          customized with individual wine holders
under an oversized shade tree. Walkways
provide lovely routes around the property.
The grassy gazebo area offers a quiet space
for sipping wines or for special events,
including weddings. There are plans in the
making for more event space and an onsite
          crush facility.

One of the more unique aspects of Rellik
Winery is the herd of resident alpaca and a
“guard” llama. The new owners acquired the
herd with the winery purchase, and guests
should be sure to visit them while touring
the premises. It is interesting to note that
alpacas and llamas originate from South
America. They are related to the camel,
and the difference between the two is that
the alpaca has more hair on its head and
face than the llama. Alpacas are very much
a skittish herd animal, while the llama is
          more independent with extended protec-
tive instincts. The resident llama at Rellik
protects his fourteen alpacas from predators
and may have rightly earned a title of a hos-
          pitality ambassador.

Rellik Winery offers a selection of wines
          including Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot
Noir, and Cabernet, and non-alcoholic bev-
erages. The menu includes a large selection
of small platters including salads, soups,
          sandwiches, cheese and charcuterie boards.
In addition, they also provide an impressive
selection of homemade pizzas and a menu
          offering some kiddo favorites.

          The challenging undertaking of renovat-
ing the winery and property resulted in a
truly unique wine experience and adven-
ture. The “retirement” plans that the Pegans
once embraced have resulted in a labor of
love with the renovation and resurrection of Quality, Local Products Fresh Produce
