Bishop Gorman:
NIAA State Champions

Bishop Gorman Women’s Golf—The Gaels—recently won
the 2019-2020 Division 4A State Golf Championship at
the Tournament Players Club in Summerlin this past Fall.
This was their first golf state championship since 2006,
and included two individual wins with sophomore Logan
Allen (third) and freshman Kirstin Angosta (fourth).
Bishop Gorman finished with a score of 642, which was 20
strokes ahead of Centennial, and over 50 strokes ahead of
Coronado, Clark, Bishop Manogue, and Reno. There were
50 high school top golfers from Las Vegas, Henderson,
and Reno who competed in this two-day state tournament.
Prior to the state event, the Gaels dominated the Desert
Region Championship by 63 strokes, claiming the win.
Gael freshman. Kirstin Angosta won the individual Desert
Region title. The Gaels were undefeated in most of the
4A league matches. Earlier in the 2019 season, the Gaels
placed third in the 2019 Chappy Wheeler Invitational High
School Golf Tournament in Palm Springs where 16 high
school teams with 110 girls played at the 36 holes event.
Gael Kirstin Angosta shot an 8 under to win the individual
title. Congratulations to the Gaels, Coach Jim Stanfill, and
Assistant Coach Dusty Allen!
