                                                               Rebel Hits Jackpot


                                                                      or former UNLV golfer Taylor Montgomery, the recent Major
                                                                      Series of Putting was like a slot machine that continued to
                                                                      pay off. Montgomery participated in several events during the
                                                               Fweek-plus competition and finished first to win $75,000 in
                                                               the Stroke Play Championship, which had a total purse of $250,000. He
                                                               split some of the winnings with some investors who paid his entry fee,
                                                               but he also cashed in some of the other events to win more.
                                                                 “I’ve grown up playing in a lot of pressure situations with my dad
                                                               being at Shadow Creek,” says Montgomery, whose father, Monte, is the
                                                               GM at the famed Vegas course. Monte is also a former Rebel. “I’ve been
                                                               putting for money for a while, and I’ve seen some crazy stuff out there,
                                                               so it's kind of normal to me."
                                                                 The Major Series of Putting is planning a return in 2018. There is at
                                                               least one golfer who can’t wait.
