THE VISION…

The Owners’ upscale lifestyle and refined sense of style and taste inspired the vision that is clearly evident in
this incredible Penthouse residence, designed and completely renovated by famed architect Richard Gibbons.
The Owners appreciate careful attention detail, including the exquisite custom hand-wrought iron staircase
leading to the Upper Level, the extraordinarily high ceilings, some as high as 19’ 9” and the beautiful wood
floors throughout the residence. Walls and flooring were removed and the layout was completely reconfigured.
The only room that remains from the original apartment is the Library and the windows, paneling and built-in
shelving in this elegant room. The renovation was truly a labor of love. The Owners desired a homelike,
inviting, yet sophisticated atmosphere, in which to welcome their family and friends and entertain both casually
or formally, which they often do. Their wish for outstanding views, combined with large open living spaces
was more than realized. They made a full commitment to comfortable luxury resulting in a most beautiful
home reflecting perfectly the way we live today.

THE LOBBY…

The circular driveway leading to the Front Entry allows convenient access for cars, limousines and taxis.
There are two service oriented doormen to greet you, announce your guests and escort them up the elevator to
the Penthouse floor (this particular service has been suspended during COVID but will resume). During the
very early morning hours there is one door man on duty. When returning from a trip or shopping, the door staff
will gladly take your luggage and packages and deliver them to your floor. The service at 1540 North Lake
Shore Drive is simply unsurpassed.

THE RESIDENCE… A “SINGLE FAMILY HOME IN THE SKY”…

Elegant and sophisticated, this home combines classic beauty, with a wide open feeling, timeless elegance, but
with excellent livability and up to date functionality. With truly commanding and unparalleled views of Lake

through three approximately 12’ tall windows and an elegant 14’ 4” coffered ceiling. The Owners have a
smaller table in this area for intimate dining for a smaller group, creating an absolutely incredible and
unmatched Living Area. The Dining Room is open and just adjacent to the Living Room, with two windows
facing the lake. This could easily work as a Family Room Area off of the Kitchen, if desired.
