THE PORTE COCHER AND LOBBY…
Motoring was one of architect Benjamin Marshall’s passions and he conceived a beautiful covered
driveway, a Porte Cocher, at the bend of the building at the main entrance and ensconced it in limestone
trim, which allows you and your guests direct covered access to the Lobby.
The service oriented, uniformed staff greets you in the well-appointed lobby and announces your guests.
They are ready to assist with luggage, packages and groceries. The lobby is intimate, tastefully furnished
and well appointed.
THE RESIDENCE…
Sophisticated, stylish and completely recently renovated, this residence combines classic beauty, timeless
elegance and completely up to date functionality with beautiful Lake Michigan and tree top views. It is
tasteful and refined and is perfect in every detail. The residence is light-filled with a gracious, open and
livable floor plan designed for the way we live today!
THE RECEPTION HALL AND GALLERY…
The elegant Grand Staircase leads right to your front door creating the feel of a single family home, or
you may choose to use the passenger elevator which takes you directly to your floor which is shared by
only one other residence.
Upon arriving in to the Entry Foyer, there is a spacious guest closet nearby. You will never forget the
amazing impact as you enter the open Reception Gallery, which symmetrically separates 70’ feet of wide
open living space from the Living Room to the formal Dining Room and the Solarium/ Family Room
beyond! The views of Lake Michigan are simply glorious.
There are elegant, wide planked espresso colored oak floors throughout the entire residence with the
exception of the limestone baths.
THE LIVING ROOM…
Upon entering the wide open Living Room enjoy the views of Lake Michigan and leafy green trees from
the oversized bow window and the open and inviting feeling of the room! It is a simply wonderful room
with more than enough space for several seating arrangements and a grand piano. The architecturally
significant 10’ ceilings are restored with Benjamin Marshall designed original plaster honeycomb design.
THE LIBRARY…
The handsome Library is open to the Living Room. The focal point of the room is the original restored
limestone mantle piece surrounding the fireplace, currently gas with a remote gas starter. (Could be
converted to wood burning, if desired) The Library can also be accessed directly from the Foyer and has
a large window overlooking Lake Michigan. It is one of the many inviting spaces in the home in which to
relax or entertain guests. There is a large window facing Lake Michigan with beautiful views of the lake
and tree tops.
