that were to celebrate the Spirit in its many guises. Our
Ancestors were very aware.

So here is my hypothesis. With time those who sought
power found that they could control their fellow beings through
fear. While this worked for a while they found that they could

never break the Spirit of the people, as the people had so much
evidence of the existence of a power greater than any human

could muster. In order to neutralise this great power, there were
those who chose to align themselves with the Spirit and to
pretend to have great authority on Spirits behalf. So religion

was born. The Divine truth was usurped by the ruthless and
adjusted so that the masses could be controlled by the few.

Ancient rituals and festivals were given new meaning. The
language of spirituality was altered to bring power back to
mankind and away from God.

God sent emissaries to earth to provide enlightenment
and awareness. The powerful deified these messengers and
thus took on more power over the less informed and less

manipulated fellow men. For example, in Christian scriptures,
you will see how exponents of the existing religions at the time
of Jesus protested at his work and ensured that the Romans,

who were in power at the time, had him removed, indeed
executed. Later in church history, you will see how the Romans

had him resurrected into attention, deified and then created a
