Self Examination.
My friends it is of utmost importance this day that we
continue our examination of our motivations. Most will judge
from a self-righteous way that they are aware that their
motivation is correct and therefore refuse to continuously
examine themselves. It so happens that nobody can afford to
adopt this attitude, as this is only the opening into the pit that
awaits them. When one feels they have the right path chosen it
would be illogical to accept that they have the ultimate answer,
they have not. On every path there are many levels, each level
with a teacher of particular abilities.
How would it be possible for anybody to progress if they
do not recognise this and allow this change to take place? They
must be prepared to accept change. Many feel that the ultimate
goal is to get to God, it is. How many are aware that the God they
seek may not be the God that they need? An illustration of this is
the typical situation where one feels that they will first do a period
of living and then they will spend time looking for that "elusive"
God. That person has no concept of the role that they have taken
up. They have put another goal before God, a goal that to them is,
at that moment in time, their God. There is no way that this person
can expect to ever achieve their true destination. You see the
simple ways that we can mislead ourselves.
