as now they realise that there is nowhere to blame nor any
excuse for their decisions or actions. They can no longer
excuse themselves nor expect others to understand their
behaviour nor excuse it. They are now ‘grown up’ and must
assume that role though they are not yet out of their teenage
years. It is their first experience of taking themselves seriously
and it is indeed very challenging. Astrologically the planet
Saturn cycles approximately every seven and a bit years. The
nineteen year old feels the approach of its influence and
challenges. This energy manifests as self questioning. It
causes the human to review its past up to this point in their
lives. It is similar to a student when they reach the point of
sitting for their final exam and question the way they have
lived the last few years of their lives. Had they paid attention
to the tutor? Had they studied enough and etc.? The nineteen
year old is in this frame of mind and might feel the adrenaline
and the ‘fight or flight’ energies. All these feelings are raising
from the unconscious. They are largely responsible for the
decisions the teenager makes. These feelings are never
verbalised nor explained to the youth and as a consequence
have a negative effect rather than a positive effect on the
about to be adult. They are expected to make decisions that
are so important to their future and yet are so ill informed
regarding their role. This energy of Saturn is the same energy
that heralded their age of reason, the time for their initiation
into adulthood and now again prepares them for the rise of
their consciousness into a responsible, reasoning and creative
adult. We pointed out that at birth the child entrusted its
power to the care of its parents, and how at approximately age
fourteen it sought the return of that power through its
initiation. At this time they are preparing to again surrender
