power, but this time to the ‘system’. The nineteen years old
period can be a very troubling and indecisive time for many
youths. They will have entered into a period of life committed
to study or work. If they have not become aware of their
vocation they will feel an undercurrent of insecurity
surrounding their decisions. They will look for a ‘fail safe’
mechanism to have just in case. The uninitiated will rely of
their parents, or to whoever they entrusted their power to, to
support them as it is those people who still hold their power.
The nineteen year old is still tied to home and family, unable
to leave until they have the power to do so. They will
encounter many issues outside the home that they are ill
equipped to handle and will therefore bring them back with
them in the hope that those who control the home will deal
with them. After all that is where the power to deal with these
issues lives. There is also the faint hope that when the age of
twenty or twenty one years old is attained that things will be
different. There is the unconscious knowing that at these ages
there will be another exchange of power. This exchange will
involve surrendering more power or should the initiation have
been successful recognising more power within themselves. It
is in the interests of the state that the young surrender more
power to the system, thus making the system more powerful.
Personal power entrusted to another is invariably abused by
those who receive it thus, and is used against the giver. The
giver becomes subservient to the holder of their power. You
can now see why it is important that parents and those who
care should know this, but where is this information available
in the state educational system? The population is educated to
continuously surrender their power to the state. In a so-called
democratic society the population is expected to vote others
