permanent arrangement, rather it was only envisaged being in
place until we grew capable of, or responsible enough, using
this power for our best interests. Unfortunately in modern
society, that is society over the last few hundred years, parents
seldom return this power to the child, even though the child
might now have grown to be an adult and a parent themselves.
In human life these days there is no marking of when this
hand back of power takes place. Traditionally it would have
been marked by the initiation of the child into adulthood, by
recognising “the coming of age”. In western society this is not
done. The initiation ceremony has now taken on a religious
theme and the real significance has been lost. Astrologically
this initiation would take place at about the age of fourteen
years. It is to acknowledge that the child is now an adult. Even
though they are not fully responsible adults in that they do not
yet have the experience to make real valid choices, that are at
least in a position to make certain choices though under adult
supervision and encouragement.
Let us return to the early days on childhood. The child seeks
to communicate with its new human family. We remind you

to be in this one. The Spirit is on a quest, is on a mission and
if we “listen” it will tell us something of this mission. It will
also have the necessary means to undertake this task and if we
but heed the message it seeks to impart we will also be able to
recognise these too. Usually we are too busy trying to build
