4. BEST PRACTICES

• ISU Board of Regents approval of a new set of institutional and financial incentives for University Researchers
who have published research outputs in recognized publications/have registered inventions and other
research-related outputs.

• The University encourages and promotes the submission of RDET proposals to national and international
research funding institutions for financial support. Towards this end, the University shall provide financial
incentive to each of the ISU faculty and personnel directly involved in the preparation of a project proposal
approved for financial support by any funding institution. Chargeable from University funds, the financial
incentive shall be equivalent to one percent (1%) of the total budget of the project but not to exceed one
hundred thousand pesos (PhP100,000.00).

• Isabela State University has launched its official research journal The Linker, which contains Seven (7) Open
Access Research Journals, in a virtual ceremony on December 9, 2020. The Linker comprises of Journal on
Emerging Research in Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry; The Educators Journal; The Journal of Computing
and Technology; Journal on Engineering Application; Journal of Business, Tourism, Public and Legal
Management; Journal of Social and Allied Health Sciences; Journal of Smart Technology and Artificial
Intelligence. The University Research and Development Council is now working towards the indexation of
these 7 journals which are hoped to be processed in 3-4 years.
