The Mental Prison Break
In my opinion liberals don’t control government enough, and when they do they don’t accomplish enough. One reason for this may be that liberals don’t exercise their freethinking ideal as audaciously as they could.
For instance, from an audaciously negative freethinking view one can see life as psychiatrist R.D. Laing saw it: “A sexually transmitted disease with a mortality rate of one hundred percent.”1 You’re born, you die, and everything in between can be considered a slowly decaying sickness unto death.
But from a just as valid, audaciously positive freethinking view, one can see life as a stupendous gift of unprecedented consciousness and unlimited mystery that every year includes totally free
