Module 8: LNG Vehicle Systems and Safety Practices
MODULE 8: OVERVIEW
Introduction LNG vehicles store natural gas in onboard cryogenic tanks until it is called for by the
engine.
Importance Technicians working on or around LNG vehicles need to be familiar with the properties of
the fuel and be able to implement safety practices unique to LNG vehicles.
Module Overview This module describes the two different types of LNG vehicles and their fuel system
components. It also reviews the safety practices necessary for technicians who will be
working on or around LNG vehicles.
Learning Objectives Differentiate between saturated and unsaturated LNG fuel systems
Identify LNG tank components and understand their operation
Describe LNG vehicle safety practices
