Module 5: CNG Fueling Station Safety Systems and Fueling Practices

           MODULE 5: OVERVIEW

Introduction NGV technicians and other fleet operations personnel may need to fuel a CNG-powered
vehicle. In many ways, CNG stations are similar to gasoline or diesel stations, but there
                                  also are some major differences.

Importance It is essential that anyone fueling a CNG powered vehicle be familiar with the various
safety systems at a CNG station, in addition to understanding how to fuel CNG vehicles.

Module Overview This module overviews the three basic types of CNG stations and describes the safety
systems installed at every station. In addition, the module includes a step-by-step
process for fueling a CNG vehicle.

Learning Objectives  List the basic types of CNG fueling stations
 Identify and use the major safety systems at a CNG fueling station
 Implement the procedures for fueling a CNG vehicle at a fast-fill station
