Module 5: CNG Fueling Station Safety Systems and Fueling Practices
11. To begin fueling, lift the handle on the
dispenser for the hose you are using.
Stand away from area between the
nozzle/receptacle and dispenser during
fueling.
12. While fueling the vehicle you may hear gas flow slow down, stop and then restart.
This is normal. As gas flow slows you may also hear a whining sound from the nozzle. This is also
normal, indicating that the vehicle is almost full.
13. When fueling from a dispenser that displays GGE/DGE and
the display indicates the fill is at 100% and gas flow has
stopped, the vehicle is full. Push handle on dispenser, for the
hose you are using, to the off position.
14. Rotate the handle on the nozzle 90° toward the vent position.
Once the nozzle has vented, continue to rotate the handle until the arrows on the handle and
nozzle are pointing toward each other.
